Now you have the track sketched out and can go in and edit, add, tweak etc just like the first method. Now hit record in the arraignment view and play out the frame work of the track. After a few run throughs, you'll hear some of the parts (intro, build, drop, main, etc) and kind of get a cool pattern going like playing the track live. Now you can kind of play the song by starting or stopping those sections, live. Then set each part up in the session view. Or watch all like 15 hours of it if you want to see every single step from new project to finished track, using this general method of making tracks.Īnother example of this method is the (Future Music?) 40 min video of Avicii making a track.Īnother cool method, if you have ableton and a controller etc that'll let you do clip launching, build that 8-16 bar loop with all it's parts. ![]() You can skip ahead in the parts where he spends a lot of time doing his signature microedit sound design, and just focus on the parts where he builds out his track from his basic 16 bar loop. Now go back and make those parts more interesting etc.įor an example of what I'm talking about, watch Mr Bills "Art of Mr Bill season 2" parts like 2-4. Repeat that formula a few times, BAM! Basic track done. Then drop almost everything back out but your best bass tracks. Now you got a bunch of stuff going on, make the last 8 bars into a build, ie white noise, extra delay, extra reverb, whatever you wanna do for your build section to amp it up. Make them fade/filter in over a few bars. Make an intro with like 1-2 of those parts, then build up the song by adding a few more parts. Once you have a 2-4-8-16-whatever bar loop with a bunch of parts that sounds good. ![]() but since the listener was hearing one of those elements for 24 bars, it gets really boring overtime. Melody in the intro, Melody + Chords in the Hook and when the verse drops i take out the chord progr. ![]() But my beats sound way too repetetive and i wanna step up my game Im sick of using the same Chord progression/Melody over and over again throughout the whole song, eventho i remove it in some parts. But i would appreciate any help from you guys.Įdit: My most used arrangment is: 8 Bars intro, the last 4 Bars are a Build up // 16 bars Hook ( 2 Hooks, i change the hook after 8 bars), // 8 Bars break/verse // 8 Bars Bridge// 8 Bars Hook // Outro Im constantly looking stuff up, trying to figure it out for myself. : Im not sitting here and waiting for answers only. I hope you understand what i just wrote, my english isnt that great. I want to know how i can learn, how to do this to get some variation throughout my song arrangment so my beats wont sound so repetetive. ![]() And when they drop THE whole Song CHANGES, like its a new beat. They start off with a nice Intro, maybe they put a melody or an arp in the build up. The thing what confuses me the most is: Whenever i hear a josh pan, Flume, Deffie, ESPECIALY a Medasin beat, I wonder about FOLLOWING THINGS: Hey, can you help me out here? (Beats without rapper/singer ) I was trying to learn how to arrange Future Bass / Flume type Beats.
